Hi and welcome to Schoolhouse Dogs! I'm Alicia Wright, the co-owner, along with my husband Curt. Curt is a full-time pastor in Lansing and we have two kids, Maleena and Amere.

I started my career in the animal care field as a temp at the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter. After that I moved on to working through Rover as a pet sitter. That is where I started to board dogs in my home and realized I could dog-sit on a larger scale. My husband and I purchased a one-room schoolhouse just down the road from our house with the intent to turn it into a dog daycare and boarding facility... and Schoolhouse Dogs was born. ​

We officially opened in the summer of 2022. We are a small facility with a maximum capacity of around 10-12 dogs. Dog safety is our top priority. We want your dogs to feel like they are going to their second home!
